Maysara Mukhlis Algebori
Founder & Owner of Puna Art Gallery
A freelance Canadian artist, born in Baghdad/Iraq in 1967. Graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts, University of Baghdad with a B.A. degree in Industrial Design.
Maysara moved to Calgary in 1996 and has fallen in love with it instantly, it has been an inspiration for her with its beautiful changing seasons. Calgary is home for her and her family ever since.
She is married to Ali; an engineer whose appreciation of art has helped him to be both her critique and inspiration. A mother of three girls, who leave their marks on most of her recent work.
She had participated in several exhibitions in the Middle East and North America.
She started taking pottery lessons with different instructors at Saffron Collective Studio in Cochrane Alberta in 2014 and has become a member in 2015 till now. A permanent member in Final Touch Art Gallery in Cochrane Alberta since 2013.

The Beginning
2003
She was the only local artist in the art exhibition Contemporary Art of Iraq held in Calgary in March 2003.
2007-2009
Her work is full of diversity of technique, style and color, due to her history and the changes in her lifestyle. Her signature is in the art of Arabesque and the beautiful Arabic Calligraphy painting; especially after practicing under UAE’s Royal Calligraphist Mohammed Mandi for 2 years. Her work of Iraq comes from her background and passion for her roots with all what Iraq was and is going through.
2011
Beacon Original Art-Maysarah Algebori participated in Fall Art Exhibition & Sale on October 22, 2011 in Bridgeland-Riverside Community Centre.
2018
Artist Maysara Mukhlis Algebori participated in the Town of Cochrane’s monthly Club House Art Walk at the Cochrane Ranche House on June 09, 2018.
